Baby Lips Review | Imogen

Baby Lips are a lip balm created by Maybelline New York, which come in various scents, colours and tints. There are 3 different collections of Baby Lips; The original, which consists of Cherry Me, Peach Kiss, Mint Fresh, Intense Care, Hydrate and Pink Punch which are more based on colour, another set which are based on colour are the Electro. If you are searching for  a lip balm that is very moisturizing and you are thinking of getting Baby Lips, then you should get one of the Dr. Rescue collection because they are all based on moisturizing and caring for your lips.

When I first purchased this product, I couldn’t have praised it more, I loved it; I loved the scent, the packaging and how moisturizing I thought it was. However now I’m slightly older and my eyes are more open to other brands, I can definitely say, there are more products offering better results for softer lips such as Carmex. Baby Lips,  guarantee “visibly renewed lips in 4 weeks”, I cannot say this happened for me, and I’ve owned this product for nearly a year, however I haven’t applied it every day and I don’t re-apply it multiple times a day, like many people do. This could obviously affect the results of using it for 4 weeks and getting visibly renewed lips.

I only own the original collection, and I am not planning on buying any more . Just because I already have 6 and I think that’s enough. My favourites are Peach Kiss, Intense Care, Hydrate and Cherry Me. My most used Baby Lips are definitely Peach Kiss and Intense Care. I prefer Intense Care out of all of them because I like how it does not leave a tint of colour on your lips. However I also really like Peach Kiss, because of the tint, because it gives off a slight nude shade. I also really like the smell of Peach Kiss. My least favourites are Pink Punch and Mint Fresh; I don’t like Pink Punch because I’m not really a fan of pink on my lips. You are now probably wondering why I bought it, to tell the truth, I bought it because it was on an offer at 3 for 2. I don’t think I’ve ever used Mint Fresh, so I can’t tell you why I don’t like that one.

Personally, I think this product is suitable for children/teenagers because it is a drugstore item which is rarely cheap, ranging at £2.99, I wrote “rarely cheap” just for the purpose that I think it could be sold cheaper, at the maximum of £2. I think nearly £3 for a lip balm is expensive, especially when it doesn’t live up to, what it is claimed to do.  I also think it is suitable for younger teenagers because the product itself is quite fun from the packaging to the tints. I think Maybelline purposely targeted this product for younger teenagers, as this lip balm doesn’t give off too much tint of colour, for students in primary school this is a bonus, because it’s still gives off a slight tint of colour but it doesn’t look like a lipstick. However, you can build up the lip balm until the colour is opaque, if wished.
I love the packaging, for the bright colours and how the title is a different colour to the tube, it really makes it stand out. However a negative aspect of Baby Lips is that the packaging is cheap, due to this it is not hard wearing. However the colourfulness of the Baby Lips definitely weigh that aspect out evenly.
Overall, I think this product is suitable for teenagers, but not necessarily adults. I think the product is fun, due to the colourful packaging and that is why I think it is based for teenagers. However for someone who is searching for a moisturizing lip balm, I would look else were, or try the Dr. Rescue Collection.

I hope you enjoyed this post as it's my first ever review. (I think I rambled on a little bit, so sorry for that) Also, I hope you are all enjoying your summer holidays(even though, it's been raining most of the morning, where I live) And sorry, for being so late with uploading this post.

Love,
